Welcome to the 3rd South Asia Conference on Interdisciplinary Research 2021 (SAIR’21)

I take great pleasure in inviting the community of research scientists, academics and postgraduate students to participate in the 3rd South Asia Conference on Interdisciplinary Research 2021 (SAIR’21) to be held on 18 – 19 June 2021 Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has been a real honour and privilege given to me by the SAIR’21 organizing committee to serve as a Chair of this conference. We hope to have more than 100 participants from 18 countries. The International Research and Development Institution (TIRDI) has brought together a rich diversity of scientists from various universities and industries to share ideas and new perspectives on a wide range of topics related to Multidisciplinary Research.

The conference focuses on many areas through six (6) conference tracks of various subjects and Keynotes Speeches, Invited Talks, and Technical Programs. The conference will be organized by the professional international organizing committee at TIRDI. There will be a significant participation by researchers from local universities and industrial organizations and the potential for collaboration and cross fertilization across borders would be substantial at this international conference.

As the Chair of the conference I am requesting you to submit your valuable abstract and participate in the SAIR’21, selected papers from the conference will be published after peer reviewing. I am confident that these experienced international organizers, TIRDI will make the SAIR’21 an unforgettable event for all the participants. Finally, I am inviting you to join this most enjoyable gathering of scientists belonging to the universities and industries from many countries across the globe to get the immense benefits in the Multidisciplinary research field.

Senior Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage is currently the Vice Chancellor of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka. She assumed her duties as the 1st Vice-Chancellor of the 16th National University, Gampaha Wickramarachchi Indigenous Medical University on 01st March 2021. She is Former Vice Chairperson of the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. She was the Head of the Department of Chemistry, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. (January 2017 – 2019) She graduated from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 1991 with a B.Sc. (Honours) Special degree in Chemistry with Second Class Upper Division. She obtained her PhD from the Cardiff University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom in 2005. She has more than 28 years’ experience in Chemistry and made a significant contribution to Sri Lanka in the field of Chemistry subject teaching to the university students and the related research work. Her main research interests cover Chemical Analysis and Environmental Speciation.

She served as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Tokai Research Establishment, Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, Japan in the years 1999 – 2000. She functioned as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Commonwealth Scientific Information and Research Organization (CSIRO), University of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia from June to December 2004. She was the Director at the Gampaha Wickramarchchi Ayurveda Institute from October 2008 to March 2015. She became a Professor in Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Kelaniya in December 2007 and promoted as a Senior Professor in Chemistry in the same department of University of Kelaniya in 2015.

PROF. SOW HUP JOANNE CHAN

Prof. Sow Hup Joanne Chan is currently an Associate Professor in Management at the Department of Management and Marketing, University of Macau, Taipa, Macau SAR, China. She was graduated in BSc, Computer Science/Information Systems from Deakin University, Australia. In addition to her BSc, she received GDFM (Graduate Diploma in Financial Management) from Singapore Institute of Management, Singapore. She obtained her MBA degree from the University of Nottingham, England. She received her PhD, Interpersonal Communication from Bangkok University, Thailand and Ohio University, United States. Her main research interest are Organizational Communication & Behavior, Nonverbal & Computer Mediated Communication, Microfinance and small businesses and Well-being & tourist studies.

PROF. VALLIPURAM KANAGASINGAM

Professor Vallipuram Kanagasingam is currently the Rector of the Trincomalee Campus of Eastern University, Sri Lanka since 2015 and Professor in Management in Department of Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management, Eastern University of Sri Lanka. He was graduated in 1995 from the Eastern University Sri Lanka with a class in Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. In 2001, he obtained his MSc in Management and in year 2016 he was awarded the PhD in Business Administration from Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. From 2004 to 2007, he has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management and from 2010 to 2012 he functioned as the Head of the Department of Management, Eastern University of Sri Lanka. He functioned as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the Eastern University, Sri Lanka (During absent of Vice-chancellor, during the year 2004 to 2007and 2011)

He has more than 23 years’ experience in the field of Commerce and Management and made a significant contribution to Management field in Sri Lanka teaching to the University students and the related research work. His research papers have been published in form of monographs & edited volumes in more than 40 National, International Journals and Proceedings. He has participated in more than 60 national and international conferences across countries. He has addressed as Keynote Speaker, Guest of Honour, Resource Person and Chaired sessions for more than 20 International Conferences. His main research interests are on Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior and Organization Change & Development.

DR. HOSHANG KOLIVAND

Dr. Hoshang Kolivand is a Senior lecturer in Computer Graphics. He received his MS degree in applied mathematics from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran, in 1999, and his PhD from Media and Games Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGIC-X) in University Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. He has completed a Post-Doctoral in Augmented Reality in UTM. Previously he worked as a lecturer in Shahid Beheshti University, Iran and then as a Senior Lecturer in UTM. Currently he is a Senior Lecturer in Liverpool John Moores University.

He has published numerous articles in international journals, conference proceedings and technical papers, including chapters in books. He is an active member of many international conferences and journals. He has also published many books in object-oriented programming and mathematics. His research interests include Human Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. Recently he has chaired 5th International Conference on Interactive Digital Media in the UK. He is the general chair of Graphic Design, Animation and Virtual Reality in Japan, June 2019.

PROF. J. S. PATIL

Prof. J. S. Patil, is currently the Vice Chancellor of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, India since October 5, 2016. He obtains his LL.B. from University College of Law, Dharwad in 1977 and received LL.M. in International Law from University of Mysore, Mysore in 1979. He was awarded his Ph.D. in 1997 from Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat in India.

He started his academic career as a Lecturer in Vidyawardhaka Law College, Mysore in 1979. He was a Reader of Law from 1988 to 1995 and promoted as a Professor of Law in 1995 and worked as a Professor of Law till 2016 at the Gulbarga University, Karnataka in India. He was the founder Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Law University, Karnataka and served there from January 2009 to January 2013. During that period, he has facilitated international collaborations of Karnataka State Law University with Ghent University, Belgium, Pardubice University, Czech Republic, Aveiro University, Portugal and Groningen University, the Netherlands. He has secured TCS- Education World Best Teacher Merit Award in 2005 for his services to the Law education in India.

Assoc. Prof. P. Mahapatra is a Head of Public Administration Department, Utkal University, India. She received her MS degree in applied mathematics from Utkal University, India, in 1989, and his PhD from in University Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. Previously she worked as a lecturer in Shahid Beheshti University, Iran and then as a Senior Lecturer in Public Administration Department. Currently she is the Head of Public Administration Department, Utkal University, India.

She has published numerous articles in international journals, conference proceedings and technical papers, including chapters in books. He is an active member of many international conferences and journals. He has also published many books. Her research interests include Public Administration Interaction.

Assoc. Prof. P. Mahapatra has won many prestigious awards for her academic publications. She is a three-time recipient of the President’s Research Bonus Awards, which is awarded annually by the President of India. Professor Mahapatra has made many contributions to the advancement of the Public Administration profession. She held many executive positions also.
